Hotel California Cocktail
This Hotel California Cocktail recipe is not the easiest to make, but it is definitely yummy. It has a total of five ingredients including tequila, pineapple and mandarin fruit juices and a bit of grenadine to add a dash of sweetness and color placing this drink on our list of drinks made with Grenadine.
How to Make a Hotel California Cocktail
Although maybe not for a new bartender, it’s still pretty easy to make. The key to making this really tasty is adding fresh juices to the recipe. You have no idea what a difference a drink made with fresh squeezed juices vs store bought can make. Take the extra time, I promise, it will be worth it.
Get your Boston shaker and add a hand full of ice. Add all of the ingredients to your shaker. Shake for a few seconds to chill the drink. Pour the entire contents of the shaker into a pina colada glass. Garnish with a pineapple slice or a mandarin orange wheel and a cherry.

About the Ingredients
Champagne – Since the tequila will pretty much drown out the taste of the champagne a bit, there’s no reason to use anything too expensive. Even one or two day old champagne is fine for this.
Tequila – For this I prefer to use the José Cuervo brand gold tequila. It’s the best bang for the buck when it comes to this drink.
Juices – As always, try your hardest to use fresh juices for this. It will make a huge difference!
Hotel California Variations
Sparkling wine of any type, preferably on the sweeter side can be used for this, not just Champagne.
