Red Bull Sunrise Drink Recipe
A Red Bull sunrise is not just a wake me up now drink, it’s actually a good looking one too. The passion fruit syrup is drizzled on top of the tequila and sour mix before being topped off by the Red Bull making it a variation on the Tequila Sunrise drink.
Red Bull drinks have been around a while now, and there’s a huge following of people that love anything Red Bull. This good tasting drink is perfect for those of you who might be new to the ‘Red Bull scene’ and want to ease into it.
Warning – Please don’t be drinking these when you have any medical or heart conditions. Red Bull has some serious negative effects as well. Especially for those of you with diabetes. Stay safe!
Red Bull Sunrise
Our Red Bull Sunrise recipe is easy and can keep the party going all night long. Paasion fruit syrup give this cocktail a nice 'sunrise' effect that looks good and tastes even better.
Ingredients
- 1.5 ounces Tequila
- 1.5 ounces Sour Mix
- 0.5 ounce of Passion Fruit Syrup
- Watermelon Redbull
Equipment
- Cocktail Shaker
- Strainer
- Jigger
- Pint Glass
Instructions
- Grab everything you'll need.
- Add a handful of ice to a shaker.
- Add your tequila and sweet and sour mix to the shaker with ice.
- Shake for ten seconds.
- Pour the contents of the shaker, including ice into the pint glass.
- Pour in your passion fruit syrup SLOWLY.
- Top off with Red Bull.
- Serve.
Notes
You want to pour the passion fruit syrup slowly so that it doesn't mix too much with the other ingredients. This is what give the drink the 'sunrise' look.

How To Make a Red Bull Sunrise?
Gather all the ingredients and make sure you have a pint glass handy, or a highball glass if you don’t have a pint glass.
Grab a shaker and add a handful of ice. Pour the tequila and sour mix into the shaker and shake about ten seconds.
Dump the contents of the shaker, including ice into the pint glass. SLOWLY pour the passion fruit syrup on top so it doesn’t mix too much with the rest of the drink.
Top off with Red Bull, just fill the glass to the top. Then drink up! There’s no garnish for this drink.

About the Ingredients
Red Bull – The most iconic energy drink of them all, this Australian drink showed up in 1987 and is the best selling energy drink in the world. But you can use other similar energy drinks and get the same boost if necessary. You get get Red Bull here.
Tequila – Since you’ll mostly be tasting the Red Bull in this, any tequila is fine. You don’t need a top shelf in this. I prefer ‘blanco’ for this, but any tequila is fine. This is even okay with Jose Cuervo brand tequilas.
Sour Mix – Again, you don’t need anything great for this. But a homemade sour mix is super simple to make and makes any cocktail taste a whole lot better than anything store bought. But if you want a store bought brand, this is what I use.
Passion Fruit Syrup – Monin is by far the best tasting passion fruit syrup available. I really don’t even use anything else for mixed drinks. You can get it here.

One of the best drinks I had is when I ran out of watermelon Red Bull and used Blueberry instead. Absolutely delicious! You can try any of the flavors and see what makes you say yum!

When to Serve a Red Bull Sunrise?
Red Bull drinks are perfect for late night when you just don’t want the party to stop. Red Bull is known as being a stimulant, and as a mixer it will keep you going a bit longer. But don’t drink too much if you’re planning on going to bed anytime soon!
