Bacardi Cocktail

Bacardi Cocktail

A Bacardi Cocktail is a rum based drink that’s a little sweet and a little more sour. Becoming all the rage after prohibition, it’s not as common as it once was, but it should be. Rum, lime and grenadine in place of sugar make this drink a pleasure to sip almost anywhere. Simple and easy to make, and the color looks great too!

How to Make a Bacardi Cocktail Recipe:

Start by filling a highball glass with ice. Add 2 oz of Rum (Despite the name, it doesn’t have to be Bacardi). Add just a dash of Grenadine. Fill the rest of the glass with either fresh lime juice as per the original, or Sour Mix and shake. Add a Cherry and a slice of Orange for a finishing touch – maybe even a little Cocktail Umbrella if you are feeling inspired!

Bikini Martini

Bikini Martini

If you’re looking for a festive and flavorful drink to serve at your next party, look no further than the bikini martini. This refreshing cocktail is made with vodka, pineapple juice, and cranberry juice, and is garnished with a slice of pineapple and a cherry.

Adding a dash of Grenadine that will eventually sink to the bottom makes this a visually stunning drink. The bikini martini is sure to be a hit with your guests!

How to Make a Bikini Martini

Recipe: Start with a cocktail shaker and fill it with ice. Add 1 oz of Coconut Rum and 3/4 oz of Vodka. Add 3/4 oz of Pineapple Juice and 3/4 oz of Guava Juice (or you can add more pineapple juice if you are out of guava) and shake it up. Pour into a chilled martini glass and then add a dash of Grenadine in the middle of the drink – this will sink to the bottom of the glass to make this drink look as beautiful as it tastes. Garnish with a wedge of Pineapple or a slice of Orange.

Black Barracuda

Black Barracuda

A Black Barracuda is a rum based, banana, berry, citrus sensation sure to please at your next summer BBQ. It’s s close cousin of the traditional Barracuda Cocktail recipe I have here, with grenadine for some color and sweetness. A definite must to try.

How to Make a Black Barracuda

Recipe: Start with a tall serving glass and fill it with ice. Add 1 oz of Dark Rum. Add 1/2 oz of Banana Liqueur and 1/2 oz of Blackberry Brandy. Follow with a dash of Lime Juice and a dash of Grenadine. Top it off with Orange Juice (no pulp for a smoother texture) and shake. Add a slice of Lime and slice of Orange to garnish.

Boston Sidecar

Boston Sidecars with chasers

A Boston Sidecar is a Rum and Brandy based drink with a citrus twist. Shaken, not stirred, the citrus flavor comes from Triple Sec and a little bit of lime juice. A cherry to garnish adds just a touch of sweet for a happy ending to the drink and your day.

How to Make a Boston Sidecar

Recipe: Start by filling a cocktail shaker with ice. Add 1 1/2 oz of Rum and then 1 1/2 oz of Brandy. Then, add 1/2 oz of Triple Sec and 1/2 oz of Lime Juice. Shake it baby! Strain it into a chilled cocktail glass. Add a finishing touch bay garnishing with either either a slice of Lime or a Cherry (or both!)

Give it a try for your next cocktail party!

Brain Hemorrhage

Brain Hemorrhage shot

Never has a shot so fully lived up to its name! Brain hemorrhage seriously looks exactly like someone’s brain exploded and landed in your shot glass. If you can get past the initial sight of it, you’ll find that it’s pretty tasty too. This is the perfect drink for anyone who loves macabre looking drinks!

But although it might be pretty to stare at, you don’t want to sip it as the blob of “brains” in this shot holds a lot of taste, and it’s meant to all mix in your mounth. So do this one in one gulp!

How to Make a Brain Hemorrhage

Recipe: Start with a shot glass and pour 3/4 oz of Peach Schnapps for the bottom layer. Carefully pour 1/2 of IrishCream over the back of a spoon to float it on top of the schnapps. Easy does it – as the Irish Cream comes in contact with the Peach Schnapps, it will start to look a little stringy.

Finally, slowly drizzle 1/2 oz of Grenadine over the schnapps – this is the trick that makes this shot extra stringy and gives this drink its signature look.

Brandy Gump

Brandy Gump Cocktail

If you are new to drinking brandy, a Brandy Gump cocktail is a good place to start. It’s a simple cocktail that’s just a little sweet. The last time I made one of these for a party I also added some edible glitter and the whole presentation was really impressive. Garnish with a slice of orange and a cherry on top to make it all really pop!

How to Make a Brandy Gump

Recipe: Start with a cocktail shaker and fill it with ice. Add 1 1/2 oz of Brandy 1/2 oz of Grenadine and 1 oz of fresh Lemon Juice. Shake and strain into a chill cocktail glass. For a finishing touch, garnish with a slice of Orange and a Cherry before serving.

Cafe Ybor

Cafe Ybor drink

When I found this recipe for Cafe Ybor, my first question was – who or what is a Ybor? It turns out that Ybor is a city in Florida near Tampa. Next, what is this Licor 43 business. Licor 43 is a Spanish liqueur and a blend of 43 proprietary ingredients, some of which are citrus and other fruit juices. So what is this drink like? Well grenadine and Licor 43 make is sweet while 151 proof rum make it strong – it’s a good time all the way around – Enjoy!

How to Make a Cafe Ybor

Recipe: Start with a coffee mug and add 2 oz of Licor 43. Fill with hot Coffee and stir. Top it off with Whipped Cream and garnish by drizzling with 151 Proof Rum and Grenadine. Add a slice of Orange on the side of your mug for a finishing touch.

El Presidente Cocktail

It’s President’s Day, so why not celebrate with an El Presidente Cocktail! This particular cocktail was actually named for Gerardo Machado, the 5th President of Cuba (hence the rum), but it’s still a great way to celebrate a day off. To the President and Presidents to come – enjoy!

How to Make a El Presidente Cocktail

Recipe: Start with an old fashioned glass and fill it with ice. Add 1 1/2 oz of Rum, 1/2 oz of Dry Vermouth and 1/2 oz of Curacao. Add a splash of Grenadine. Stir it all up and then strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a Lemon twist before serving.

Honolulu Cocktail

Honolulu Cocktail

A little sweet, a little sour, this Honolulu Cocktail has it all! Feel the sun on your face and the sand beneath your toes with this drink in your hand no matter where you are. Sour mix makes it sour, grenadine makes it sweet and pineapple makes it Hawaiian. Don’t forget the little paper umbrella – Aloha!

Hotel California Cocktail

Hotel California Cocktail

Summer is here – tis the season for frozen drinks! Let’s kick if off with a Hotel California cocktail. Grab your blender and get ready – you can check out any time you like, but you won’t want to leave without one of these. Add a little tequila or vodka, and you’re ready to party

Hurricane Cocktail

Hurricane Cocktail

The Hurricane Cocktail is another favorite from New Orleans and very popular among the tourist crowd. Fruity and fun, it definitely packs a punch! While there are a few substitutions you might be able to make if you’re short on ingredients, but it’s worth it to make the real deal if you can.

How to Make a Hurricane Cocktail

Grab a cocktail shaker and add 1 1/2 oz of Light Rum and 1 1/2 oz of Dark Rum. Add 1 oz of Lime Juice (the real stuff) and 1 oz of Orange Juice. Add 1/4 cup of Passion Fruit Juice or 1 tablespoon of Passion Fruit Syrup and 1 teaspoon of Superfine Sugar. Shake it up until the sugar is dissolved. Add 1 teaspoon of Grenadine and ice to your shaker and shake it up a little more. Half fill a highball glass with ice and strain your cocktail into the the glass. For a finishing touch, garnish with a slice of Orange and a Cherry.

Jelly Bean Cocktail

Easter is still months away, but it’s never too early for jelly beans or a Jelly Bean Cocktail! I think there are two kinds of people in this world – those that like black jelly beans and those that don’t. If you are the first kind of person, this is the shooter recipe for you. Grenadine makes it sweet and anisette gives it its distinctive flavor.

How to Make a Jelly Bean Cocktail

Grab a shot glass and add 1/2 oz of Grenadine or Blackberry Brandy. Carefully pour 1/2 oz of Anisette or 1/2 oz of Sambuca over the back of a bar spoon to create a second layer. Pour 1/2 oz of Southern Comfort over the back of your spoon to create a third and final layer on top.

Little Red Teddy

The Little Red Teddy is definitely on the sweeter side and mixed with chocolately goodness thanks to the addition of creme de cacao. It’s easy to make, easy to enjoy, and will have you feeling a little as sexy as that red teddy hiding in your closet (guys, that goes for you too!)

How to Make a Little Red Teddy

Start with a cocktail shaker and add some ice. Add 3/4 oz of Vodka, 3/4 oz of White Creme de Cacao, and 1/2 oz of Grenadine. Shake it like you mean it and serve in a shot glass.

Magnolia Blossom

Magnolia Blossom cocktail

A Magnolia Blossom cocktail is as pink as spring flowers and as lemony fresh as a summer’s day. If you like lemon, this is definitely a cocktail for you.

Even though this drink contains cream, the lemon juice keeps it light and fresh. If it’s a bit too tart for your taste, just add a bit more grenadine and sit back and enjoy slowly.

How to Make a Magnolia Blossom

Grab your cocktail shaker and a touch of spring. Fill your shaker with ice and add 1 1/2 oz of Gin, 1/2 oz of Lemon Juice, 1/2 oz of Heavy Cream, and 1/4 oz of Grenadine. Shake it like you mean it. Strain into a cocktail glass and serve with a smile.

Rum Daisy Cocktail

Rum Daisy Cocktail

Spring is here and the flowers are in bloom – the perfect season for a Rum Daisy Cocktail. This one is almost like a sweetened lemonade mixed with rum and served almost like a slushy. Enjoy this in the spring and keep it in mind for the summer too!

How to Make a Rum Daisy Cocktail

Start with your shaker and fill it two-thirds full of ice. Add 1 oz of fresh Lemon Juice, 1/2 oz of Grenadine and 2 1/2 oz of Light Rum. Shake it up and strain everything into a highball glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with a Lemon Twist for a finishing touch and serve.

Rum Runner

Rum Runner

Whether you prefer yours on the rocks or frozen, a Rum Runner is a tasty tropical drink and a great way to beat the heat. It’s a perfect escape to your own tropical paradise in your own backyard.

How to Make a Rum Runner

Start by grabbing cocktail shaker and fill it with ice. Add 1/2 oz of Light Rum and 1/2 oz of Dark Rum. Add 1/2 oz of Banana Liqueur and 1/2 oz of Blackberry Brandy. Add a dash of Grenadine, a dash of Sour Mix, and a dash of Orange Juice. Shake it up and pour it, ice and all, into a highball glass. For an extra kick, float 1/2 oz of 151Proof Rum on top.

Sangria

sangria

Made by the pitcherful, Sangria isn’t quite a cocktail, since it doesn’t contain any alcohol, but it’s the perfect chaser if you’re doing shots of tequila. It’s the perfect thing to add a little bit of spice to your next party. And have an ice maker ready to keep this nice and cold.

How to Make Sangrita

Start with a large pitcher with plenty of room to mix. Add 12 oz of Tomato Juice, 6 oz of Orange Juice, and 2 oz of Lime Juice. Now for the spice – add 6-8 dashes of Worcestershire Sauce, 5-20 dashes of Hot Sauce (depending on how hot you’re feeling) a pinch of Salt and a pinch of Pepper. If you want to get fancy, consider adding any of the following: 1 1/2 oz of Grenadine, 1/2 cup of minced Onions, or 1/2 cup of minced Hot Peppers. Stir and chill to allow the flavors to meld and marinate. When you are ready to party, pour a shot of Tequila in one glass and strain your chaser into another.

Slippery Nipple

The Slippery Nipple cocktail is perfect for the licorice lover in you. This floater cocktail stacks Sambuca and Bailey’s and just a bit of Grenadine for a delicious shooter. Check out this recipe and our whole collection of floater cocktails for your next event.

How to Make a Slippery Nipple

Start with a 2 oz shot glass and pour 2 oz of Sambuca. Then float 1/2 of Bailey’s Irish Cream for the top layer. Add just a drop of Grenadine in the center to create the “nipple.”

Stars and Stripes Layered Cocktail

Stars and Stripes Layered Cocktail

Start your next July 4th BBQ with Stars and Stripes, a floater cocktail that is sure to show everyone that “these colors don’t run,” at least if you float the layers carefully.

This drink is definitely on the sweeter side, but the cream helps to balance the grenadine and the blue curacao gives it a little bit of a fruity flavor. If you are already planning a party or your own private celebration for Inauguration Day.

A few tips for building this cocktail – when pouring the middle and top layers over the bar spoon, hold the spoon with the back of the spoon facing up and holding it relatively flat. Pour the ingredients slowly, closer to the stem of the spoon than the edge. Also, be sure to wipe down your jigger and your spoon in between ingredients to prevent mixing. Having crushed ice for this helps in the presentation.

How to Make a Stars and Stripes Cocktail

Start with shot glass and pour 1/2 oz of Grenadine for the bottom layer. Using a bar spoon, float 1/2 oz of Blue Curacao for the middle layer. Wipe down the spoon and then use it to float 1/2 oz of Heavy Cream for the top layer. Sing the Star Spangled Banner and serve!

Tequila Sunrise

Tequila Sunrise

This Tequila Sunrise recipe is a great cocktail, not just a great song. Prepared with orange juice, it’s perfect to serve for brunch or any gathering with friends.

How to Make a Tequila Sunrise

Start with a highball glass and fill it with ice. Add 2 oz of Tequila and then fill the rest of the glass with Orange Juice. Then, pour 1/2 oz of Grenadine in the center of the drink. Do not stir – as the grenadine sinks to the bottom, it creates the chromatic effect that looks a little like a sunrise. Add an Orange wheel as a garnish.

Tidal Wave Frozen Cocktail

Tidal Wave Frozen Cocktail

When it comes to fabulously frozen cocktails, I was pretty impressed by the Tidal Wave. For starters, gin, vodka and Sothern Comfort let you know that this one isn’t for the kids. But, when blended with orange sherbet and sweetened with a splash of Grenadine, it sure goes down easy! I love the taste of citrus in the summer time and this one does not dissappoint.

How to Make a Tidal Wave Frozen Cocktail

Grab your blender and add 1/2 cup of ice, 3/4 oz of Vodka, 3/4 oz of Gin, 3/4 oz of Southern Comfort and a dash of Grenadine to sweeten the deal. Add 1 scoop of Orange Sherbet and blend until smooth. You can adjust the thickness of your drink by adding a bit of Orange Juice or a bit more sherbet before serving.

Tokyo Express

Tokyo Express frozen cocktail

All aboard the Tokyo Express! This fabulously frozen cocktail is a little sweet with a little sour and a lot of dark rum all blended up into frozen cocktail bliss. Blending for just a bit on low is what gives this drink its lovely slushy quality, keeping your drink cold just a little longer. Enjoy!

How to Make a Tokyo Express

Grab your blender and add 1 cup of ice, 2 oz of Dark Rum, 1 oz of Peach Schnapps, 2 oz of Orange Juice, 1 oz of Sour Mix and just a dash of Grenadine. Blend on low for 5 seconds and pour into a high ball glass. Garnish with a slice of Orange, a slice of Lemon and a Cherry to boot!

Buffalo Zoo Drink

buffalo zoo drink original

This copycat recipe originally comes from the Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant chain. It has seven ingredients so it’s not the easiest to make. But it does taste good and is a tiki, beach kind of drink. One thing you can do to make this even more ‘tiki’ would to add coconut rum rather than just the plain old white rum. Or even a spicy rum.

How to Make a Buffalo Zoo Drink

In a shaker, combine the vodka, rum, whiskey, peach schnapps with a handful of ice. Shake and pour into a pint glass. Add pineapple and orange juices in equal amounts to fill the rest of the glass. Then add a splash of Grenadine and garnish with an orange slice and cherry.

Cherry Cheesecake Shot

Cherry Cheesecake Shots

This shot has a half ounce of Grenadine as well as vanilla vodka and pineapple juice all combining to make a yummy shot indeed. The whipped cream garnish elevates the shot and really does help it taste like cherry cheesecake. And I love cherry cheesecake! Any cheesecake actually.

How to Make a Cherry Cheesecake Shot

Add the vanilla vodka, grenadine and a splash of pineapple juice to a shaker with some ice. Shake enough to chill the shot but not water it down. Using a Hawthorne strainer, strain the liquid into a shot glass. Garnish with a little whipped cream and down it in one go!

Wild Irish Rose

Wild Irish Rose drink

A Wild Irish Rose may not be a green cocktail, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t Irish! This drink has an Irish whiskey base with a splash of lemon juice for sour and a kiss of grenadine for sweet. Best served in a pina colada glass.

How to Make a Wild Irish Rose

Grab a rocks glass and fill it mostly with ice. Add 2 oz of Irish whiskey, 3/4 oz of Lemon Juice, 1/2 oz of Grenadine and top it off with Soda Water. Stir and serve with a smile.
